On November 29, we visited a Miso factory in Okazaki.
In Aichi Prefecture, red miso(赤味噌) is commonly consumed. One of the most famous types is Hatcho Miso (八丁味噌)from Okazaki. This miso is known for its rich, deep flavor and is made using traditional methods that date back over 800 years. Hatcho Miso is a key ingredient in many local dishes and is highly valued for its unique taste and health benefits.
We visited KAKUKYU Haccho Miso factory to learn how to make Haccho Miso and we even tasted it!!
We were able to learn about Aichi’s history and culture though this factory tour.
